Environmental protection
As a brand we exercise direct control over our production activities. Therefore, we are committed to careful management of the impact of corporate activities on land resources by acting on various fronts: self-production of energy, purchase from renewable sources and efficiency of civil and industrial plants.
By virtue of this, on October 25, 2019 Calzedonia Group became part of the Fashion Pact.
Our commitment is based on the efficiency of the plants, on the use of low environmental impact technologies and on the conscious and controlled use of water resources. We have adopted management systems that have allowed them to achieve voluntary energy and environmental certifications, such as ISO50001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
In 2020 we achieved some important objectives which are only the first step towards new goals:
- - avoided the emission of 925 tons of CO2e thanks to self-produced energy
- - avoided the emission of 17,000tons of CO2e thanks to the use of48%of energy from renewable sources
- - For years online we have activated the collection / return service at the point of sale. In 2020 alone, this method allowed us to save around 527,000 shipments.
WATERS
For us, production is also water management: we have been engaged for years in a rational use of water resources within our production processes and in all areas where we are present with stores.
The waste water is discharged in compliance with the chemical and physical parameters required by local laws. In particular, in the plants where there are water treatment plants, every day our specialized employees analyze the main chemical and physical parameters of the waste water with specific tools.
Every three months we send some waste water samples to external certified laboratories for analysis.
